Heishman is the premier candidate and is very well suited for the position as he comes with tremendous experience and the right mindset for the Fulton County community in which he was born and raised.

With over 21 years of law enforcement and corrections experience, Heishman has had success in various positions within the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office including patrol deputy, K-9 deputy, narcotics investigations, and interim Jail Commander. Heishman currently holds the rank of Detective Sergeant for which he is responsible for investigating all types of crimes in Fulton County. As a Sergeant, he is also responsible for supervising the School Resource Officers (SRO) in both Rochester and Caston Community Schools along with assisting in the day-to-day operations of the office.  

The decision to run came easy for Heishman based on his experience and prior mentors as he is dedicated to serving his community and is fully committed to protecting the core values of this office. Heishman has been a member of Drug Free Fulton County since 2008 and is also an active board member of Fulton County Soccer, Habitat for Humanity and a member of Moose Lodge #1107.

Heishman prides himself on his law enforcement and leadership abilities.  He has and will continue to put school bus safety as a major priority for the office and the deputies he leads.  The Fulton County Sheriff's Office has been an active participant in the SAVE grant through ICJI since its inception and Heishman had dedicated numerous hours to these enforcement and education periods.   He has teamed up with other law enforcement partners over the years speaking to area students about internet and social media safety, distracted driving, and school bus safety. Heishman will also work closely with local enforcement agencies to address the needs and concerns of the citizens he serves.

Heishman understands the position of Sheriff is not about one person; it is about mentoring the men and women of the office as well as being visible and responsive to the citizens.
